ANTHRAX To Begin Work On New Album In August
May 27, 2004ANTHRAX will begin work on a new album in August for a tentative late spring/early summer 2005 release, guitarist Scott Ian told The Star Newspapers in a recent interview.
"If we make a great record, everything else falls into place," he said.
Ian also said that he is hoping the relationship the band established with famed comic book artist Alex Ross will continue. Ross handled the artwork for both "Music of Mass Destruction" and 2003's "We've Come for You All".
"I'm a huge fan of Alex's work. I'm a comic book guy since the '60s, since I was a little kid," Ian told The Star Newspapers. "It's pretty mind-blowing to see yourself drawn and painted by Alex Ross. My fave fan-boy dream was to have Alex draw me as a superhero. It's pretty cool."
What remains the coolest, for Ian, is the creativity involved in ANTHRAX's work.
"Getting to make music, that to me is the most exciting thing," he said. "What are we going to do? What's it going to sound like? That mystery, to me, is what keeps the whole ball rolling," Ian said. [Read more]
